Your character is a survivor sent to the island by the ruthless TEC01 corporation—likely framed or imprisoned for a crime. Now, you must simply try to survive in this hostile environment. Remember: You are your character. Your life has value, and your roleplay narrative always takes precedence over game mechanics.Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The Dangers You Face

The island is a terrifying place, filled with enemies both biological and mechanical:

  • Puppets: The primary threat. These are former survivors, now mindlessly controlled and driven to overwhelm you with sheer numbers, rushing, clawing, and biting.

  • TEC01: The architects of your misery. This powerful, mostly automated faction maintains island security with giant robotic forces like the Sentry. They are the heavy hitters who will deploy to eliminate any significant threat to their system. Working with them is risky and could label you a traitor.

  • Bunkers: Former TEC01 bases now guarded by both massive puppet hordes and Sentries. These remain the best (and riskiest) places to find highly desired loot.

  • Abandoned Bunkers: Destroyed and locked-down bunkers that hold a sinister presence. They may no longer be guarded by Sentries, but the alarms can attract dropships, and survivors speak of unsettling cries and "monstrosities" within.

Who Can You Trust?

The island is home to several major factions, some of which you can join:

  • The Rebellion: The organized opposition to TEC01. They work to disrupt the show and provide much-needed supplies and assistance to survivors, often working with smugglers. Aligning with them will put you squarely in TEC01's crosshairs. (Admin/Storyline Faction)

  • Cult of the Puppet: A secretive and feared group of fanatics who have adopted the appearance and movement of the puppets. They are hostile to outsiders who discover their secret and refuse to join. (Storyline Faction, must be found in-game)

  • Survivors: This is your faction. You are the prisoners of the island, struggling to make it through another day. You can form your own squads and groups to survive. (Player Faction)

Will you struggle alone, ally with fellow survivors, or risk everything by joining the fight against TEC01?

Section 1: Character Creation

Your journey on the island begins here. Follow these guidelines to create your character.

  • Screenshot: Before you spawn, you must take a screenshot of your character's skill and attribute screen for administrative review if needed.

  • Age: Characters must be between 20 and 50 years old. No child characters are permitted.

  • Voice: A microphone is required. Voice changers are allowed if they sound natural. Mute or Deaf characters require staff approval prior to creation.

  • Attributes (Stats): You may keep all four attributes (STR, CON, DEX, INT) at 3, or lower some to raise others. All stats can be increased through gameplay.

  • Skills: You may start with only ONE skill at the Advanced level. All other skills must be Medium or lower. This is to prevent min-maxing and encourage diverse character development.

  • Backgrounds: If you wish to be a former TEC01 or Rebellion member, you must get approval from staff first to establish your character's secret knowledge and history.

Rules:

Section 2: General Server Rules & Conduct

These rules govern your behavior on the island.

  • Roleplay First: This is an RP server. Your character's story and believable actions are more important than game mechanics. Value your character's life (VOL) and act accordingly.

  • No Kill on Sight (KOS): You must initiate roleplay before engaging in any hostile action. See the PVP section for more details.

  • Out of Character (OOC): Keep OOC chat out of the game. Use Discord tickets or direct messages for OOC questions. If you must step away for a real-life reason (bio break), find an in-character way to excuse yourself (e.g., "I need to rest for a moment.").

  • Global Chat (Radio): In-game global chat is treated as an open radio frequency. Anyone with a phone, radio, or car radio can hear you. Be mindful that your conversations are public.

  • Harassment & Toxicity: Zero tolerance for OOC harassment of any kind (related to age, sex, race, etc.). In-character conflict and banter are part of RP but must not be excessive. Keep it civil.

  • Erotic Roleplay (ERP): ERP is strictly forbidden in-game to comply with the Terms of Service of SCUM and streaming platforms. If you wish to engage in such RP, do so privately on a third-party platform.

  • Metagaming: Using OOC knowledge for an in-character advantage is prohibited. Your character only knows what they have learned and experienced in-game.

  • Powergaming: Forcing actions or story elements onto another player's character without their consent is not allowed. This includes actions like declaring you've injured them without a fight or forcing a backstory relationship on them.

  • Combat Logging: Do not log out to avoid a conflict or active RP scene. You may log out once at least 10 minutes have passed since the conflict ended or you have clearly escaped to a safe location.

  • Reporting Violations: If you witness a rule break, do not argue in-game. Open a ticket on Discord with as much evidence as possible (video recordings are best).

Section 3: Death & Respawning

Death is not always the end, but it has consequences.

  • Cloning: When you die, your consciousness is transferred to a clone and dropped back on the island. This process costs in-game money from your bank account.

  • Memory Loss: Your memory of the events leading to your death depends on your Intelligence stat.

    • INT 1: Total amnesia of the event.

    • INT 2: Blurry, unclear memory.

    • INT 3: Mostly clear memory, some details may be jumbled.

    • INT 4: Near-perfect memory, minor details might be confused.

    • INT 5: Perfect, total recall of the event.

    • INT 6+ (Boosted): Perfect recall plus haunting flashes of what happened to your body after death.

  • Perma-Death: If your bank account goes too far into debt, your clone data is erased, and your character is permanently dead. You may also choose to perma-death your character.

  • No Heirlooming: A new character cannot inherit anything from your old one. You must avoid your old base, stashes, and even your former squad until you roleplay a reason to reconnect.

Section 4: Building & Vehicles

  • Base Building:

    • Flags: 1 flag per player. Squads should build under their leader's flag.

    • Building Restrictions: Do NOT build on or block major Points of Interest (POIs) like large towns, bunkers, or gas stations. Open land and small, unnamed locations are fine.

    • Turrets: Turrets may only be used for defense against puppets and sentries, NOT players.

    • Mines & Traps: You may place traps within your base, but you must have a clearly visible sign at the entrance warning visitors of mines.

    • Raider Trader (Z3): This location is a contestable PvP zone. Squads can fight for ownership. Staff will not replace items lost here.

  • Vehicle Ownership: Each character is allowed to own and lock the following:

    • 1 Primary: Laika, WolfsWagon, Rager, Cruiser, or Airplane

    • 1 Secondary: Laika, WolfsWagon, Rager, or Cruiser

    • 1 Backup/Fixer: Laika, WolfsWagon, Rager, or Cruiser

    • 1 Alternative: Motor Boat, Tractor, Dirt Bike, or Quad

    • 1 of each "Other": Wheelbarrow, Bicycle, Raft, SUP

    • Any vehicles owned beyond these limits cannot be locked and are at risk of being stolen.

    • Vehicles despawn after 30 real-time days of inactivity.

Section 5: PVP & Conflict Rules

Conflict is part of survival, but it must be driven by roleplay.

  • Recording Is Mandatory: If you plan to initiate robbery or PvP, you must be recording. This protects you from false claims. Without video evidence, staff will typically side with the defender in a dispute.

  • PVP Initiation: You must have a valid, story-driven reason to attack someone. Initiate with verbal communication or clear RP actions before violence begins.

  • Robbery & Theft:

    • You may only steal what your character can physically carry in one trip.

    • Leave your victim with enough to survive. You may only take their Backpack, Bags, Holsters, and Headgear. Do not strip them naked.

    • You must lockpick locked vehicles or containers; you cannot force a player to unlock them.

    • There is a one-week cooldown on raiding or robbing the same player/squad. Report all raids/robberies to staff via a Discord ticket for tracking.

  • Offline Raiding: Base damage is disabled if no members of the defending squad are online.

  • Sniper Rule: If you are sniping in support of your group, a group member on the ground must verbally indicate the presence of an "overwatch" or "hidden backup" (this can be a bluff). You may only open fire after combat has been initiated by either side. You must remain in your sniper position during the fight.

  • Puppet Suit: Wearing this suit makes you appear as a puppet. As such, you are Kill on Sight (KOS) to all other players, as they have no in-character way of knowing you are not a puppet. There are severe RP consequences if you are discovered.

Lastly:

We ask that all individuals who intend on PVP action record their interactions for the protection of their own interests.
It is your responsibility to provide proof of your innocence as the aggressor.

In the event of a dispute, should you not have video evidence, staff will be inclined towards the maligned party and not the aggressor.
